About GOAT Squad
GOAT Squad is a free basketball dream-team builder with a roguelike twist. Every position spins
at once and you hit STOP — whatever the reels land on is what you can pick from. Lock one player, the
rest respin, and you keep going until you have a starting five, a sixth man and a coach.
Then your squad has to survive. The Gauntlet sends you through a ladder of the greatest teams ever
assembled in a best-of-seven series each time, with cap space to spend in traveling shops, relics that bend
the rules, and one life — lose a series and the run is over.
There's a new daily squad every day with the same reels for everyone, so it's a fair test of timing and
roster judgement rather than luck.
Frequently asked questions
Is GoatLab free to play?
Yes. Every game runs in your browser with no download and no payment. An optional account saves your builds, and optional extras exist, but the games themselves are free.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play, post scores and take on the daily challenge as a guest. Signing in with Google just saves your players to a personal Hall of Fame and carries your progress between devices.
Is stopping the reels random?
No — the reels move at a fixed speed, so stopping them is a learnable skill. The daily run uses the same sequence for every player worldwide.
What is the Gauntlet?
A ten-layer run against historic teams. Beating one lets you sign a player off their roster; losing ends the run entirely. Shops between fights sell upgrades with the cap space you earn.
