About Build a Pitcher
Build a Pitcher is a free browser game where you assemble your own Major League pitcher from
real players, one body part at a time. Spin the reel, land on a random pitcher, and assign their rating to
one of nine attributes — Velocity, Break, Strikeout, Ground Ball, Command,
Clutch, Defense, Frame and Stamina.
Fill all nine slots and your pitcher's Overall is revealed — then Simulate Career plays out their
entire run in the majors, season by season: strikeout totals, ERA titles, Cy Young awards, no-hitters, World
Series rings and a Hall of Fame verdict at the end. Strikeout, Ground Ball and Command carry the most weight,
and Stamina quietly decides how many innings and how many seasons the career lasts.
You get one Re-spin, one Boost (upgrade the landed pitcher to their Prime version) and one
Snag (take the neighbouring card) per run, so timing them well is most of the strategy. Post the
finished pitcher to the global leaderboard or save them to your Hall of Fame.
Frequently asked questions
Is GoatLab free to play?
Yes. Every game runs in your browser with no download and no payment. An optional account saves your builds, and optional extras exist, but the games themselves are free.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play, post scores and take on the daily challenge as a guest. Signing in with Google just saves your players to a personal Hall of Fame and carries your progress between devices.
How do I build the best pitcher?
Put your highest ratings on Strikeout, Ground Ball and Command — they are weighted heaviest and drive the underlying simulation. Stamina matters more than it looks: a dominant strikeout arm with poor stamina throws too few innings to ever reach the big career milestones.
Where do the player ratings come from?
Every card is a real professional pitcher with real attribute ratings, refreshed as the season progresses. Retired greats appear as purple legend cards.
