About College Hoops Lab
College Hoops Lab is a free browser game where you build a college basketball star at one of
three positions — guard, wing or big — from the real 2025-26 season statistics of actual
college players. Spin the reel, assign each player you land on to an attribute, and finish the build to reveal
your Overall.
Then the career begins with Signing Day: pick your school from three hats, earn a star rating, and
play out three to five college seasons. Chase the Naismith Player of the Year, survive all six rounds of
the March Madness bracket, and make choices along the way — NIL deals, five-star rivals at your position,
the transfer portal, and whether to declare early or return for another year.
When college is done you can keep going: Draft Night sends your player to the NBA, where the second
act plays out with its own statistics, awards and a shot at Springfield — or a spectacular lottery bust.
Frequently asked questions
Is GoatLab free to play?
Yes. Every game runs in your browser with no download and no payment. An optional account saves your builds, and optional extras exist, but the games themselves are free.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play, post scores and take on the daily challenge as a guest. Signing in with Google just saves your players to a personal Hall of Fame and carries your progress between devices.
Which positions can I build?
Guard, wing and big, each with its own reel of real college players and its own career flavor. The daily challenge rotates through all three on a three-day cycle.
Can my player go to the NBA?
Yes. After the college career ends, an optional pro continuation runs Draft Night and plays out the NBA career, including MVP awards, championships and Hall of Fame consideration.
