Football got the spin-and-build treatment later than basketball, but it caught up fast in 2026. There are now player builders, fantasy-flavored slot drafts and head-to-head roster games, all free in a browser. This guide sorts them by what you actually do in each. The NFL Player Builder spins a reel of real players and stops on one. You place his rating into one of nine slots on the body. A quarterback's slots are Short Accuracy, Arm Power, Football IQ, Poise, Deep Ball, Mid Accuracy, Frame, On the Run and Wheels; a running back's are Vision, Power, Break Tackle, Ball Security, Catching, Elusiveness, Burst, Speed and Frame. Linebackers and corners get their own slot sets and their own career stats (tackles, sacks, picks), which most builders skip.

Then the career: seasons, MVP votes, playoff runs, at most one injury, a decline, a Hall of Fame verdict, with optional mid-career decisions and a rival. The career is seeded from the build, so the boards stay honest. The daily gives every player in the world the same cards and one attempt, and the streak runs across every GoatLab sport. Build-A-Player

Build-A-Player is the quick one. Spin a team, pull a player, fill nine slots, simulate a season, post to the all-time board. Five positions (QB, RB, WR, TE, DB), two formats (All-Time and Classic), no login, no spin limit. Tight ends are a point in its favor; linebackers and linemen are listed as coming soon. Sleeper 17-0

17-0 comes from Sleeper, the fantasy app, and it shows: real team-seasons from 1999 to 2025, a slot-machine spin, seven picks, and a perfect scoring season as the target. GridIron Duels is head to head. Each turn rolls a new random NFL roster, both players draft into nine slots, and the game decides the winner. It is the closest thing football has to GoatLab's 1v1 Face Off, and it works with no download.
